About The Author

Dr. Virginia Juanita Young Morrison is a native of Gainesville, Georgia. Her parents were very instrumental in helping her to become the mother, leader, manager, mentor, and caring person who she is today.

She is a 1973 graduate of Savannah State College (now University) where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education.

She pursued her Master’s degree in Urban Studies from Cambridge College and in 2002, earned her Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Change from Fielding Graduate University.

After thirty-one years as a professional educator, she retired from the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System in 2004 as a classroom teacher and mentor.

Dr. Morrison’s leadership, interpersonal skills, and service in the community are evident in the activities, organizations, and programs that she has been devoted to and involved in:  President/CEO of MBHM, Inc. (Mobilizing & Balancing Health Management), Facilitator of Savannah “P.R.Y.M.E.²” (Positive Realities, You & Me Educating and Evolving) Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Self-Help Group, Secretary and Incorporator of the Grady Young Foundation, Inc., former Financial Secretary and Scholarship Chairperson for Savannah State University Foundation, Inc., a Lifetime Member of the Savannah State University Alumni Association – Savannah Chapter, and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, – Savannah Alumnae Chapter.

She thanks God and each of her family members as they are the most important part of her life.
